DUTCH FLAT, Placer County — Placer County Water Agency is warning raw-water customers in the Dutch Flat and nearby foothill areas about six scheduled delivery interruptions tied to repairs on the Boardman Canal near Colfax.
Mark these dates
PCWA’s official outage notice identifies November 16, 19, 23, 26 and 30, and December 3, 2026. Each interruption is expected to begin at 6 a.m., with canal service scheduled to resume by approximately 6 p.m. and full recovery expected by around 6 a.m. the following day.
The affected network includes the Boardman 570 and 571 canals, the Colfax Supply Line and the Bowman Feeder. PCWA lists Alta, Applegate, Colfax, Dutch Flat, Meadow Vista, Weimar and neighboring Zone 3 areas in its geographic notice.
What is causing the outages?
Crews are scheduled to replace flume tin along the Boardman Canal near Secret Town Road in Colfax. The work is intended to maintain water conveyance infrastructure. The agency says relevant fire agencies have been notified.
Does it mean your home loses drinking water?
Not necessarily. PCWA distinguishes untreated canal deliveries from treated household drinking-water service. Its notice says several treatment plants may receive reduced raw-water supply during the work; it does not issue a general boil-water order or confirm that every residence in Dutch Flat will lose tap water.
Customers should identify their own service type and check the utility’s live notice before each date. For urgent water-service issues, PCWA lists 530-823-4850. Never assume conditions from a prior day’s outage will apply without an update.
